About the service

Here at Kingston Maternity Unit, our philosophy of care is to put women and birthing people at the centre of our service. We aim to make every birth special and ensure your hopes and expectations are met in this special experience. 

We use the words 'woman' or 'mother' while recognising that not all people who use maternity services identify or define themselves as women. We will always ask how you would like to be described and adapt our language to meet individual needs and preferences.

Pregnancy yoga

We offer pregnancy yoga sessions led by a midwife who is also a qualified yoga instructor.

Vaccinations during pregnancy

There are certain vaccinations offered to you during your pregnancy to help protect you and your baby.

Pelvic health classes

We offer two classes to support your pelvic health needs in pregnancy, during and after birth.

  • 2026 NHS Maternity Survey

    We will soon be conducting a survey to find out about mothers’ recent experiences of antenatal care, labour and birth, and postnatal care at Kingston Hospital.
