Private maternity service

Kingston Private Health, offers an individualised private maternity service for all parents-to-be in partnership with Kingston Hospital. We have a range of consultant-led packages on offer, offering one-to-one midwife care throughout your delivery and post-natal stay as standard.

Antenatal care and delivery

Throughout your antenatal care, your consultant obstetrician will carefully assess you to help identify any risk factors or complications. They will be supported by a midwife from Kingston Hospital’s maternity unit and together they will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and help you to make informed choices right through to the birth of your baby. Our aim throughout is to provide you with the continuity of care and the flexibility that is paramount at this special time. We believe that through this complimentary support from both your obstetrician and midwife it will allow you to create an individualised and safe care plan that suits you and your family.

Your obstetrician will attend your delivery and will take full responsibility for your care. In the unlikely event of complications occurring during birth, your obstetrician will be there to perform any emergency procedures that may be required. Having your baby with Kingston Private Health means you and your baby will have access to all of the additional support and specialist care, including operating theatres, neonatal units and infant feeding specialists, provided by Kingston Hospital’s maternity unit and the highly trained staff who work there. Kingston Private Health is also centrally located within the hospital which means that you and your baby will have access to a wealth of back-up medical and other support services, 24 hours a day, should it be required, providing you with the additional reassurance at this special time.

Postnatal care

Following the safe delivery of your baby, you and your baby will be transferred to our dedicated private patient facilities at Kingston Private Health, where you will be accommodated in one of our postnatal rooms. Your post-natal care will continue to be overseen by your consultant obstetrician, together with one-to-one midwife support throughout your stay with us. Your midwife will be on hand to provide advice on how to care for your baby, which can include carrying out a comprehensive feeding assessment, advice on bathing and changing your baby. The one-to one care is included as standard on all our consultant-led packages to give you and your partner the perfect opportunity to get to know your new arrival in a comfortable, friendly and safe environment. Our dedicated private physiotherapist will be available to see you soon after the birth of your baby to provide advice on exercises that are appropriate and tailored to you as an individual.

During your stay

All our bedrooms offer en-suite facilities, a television with a selection of Freeview channels, fridge, complimentary wi-fi and direct dial telephones. Rooms are cleaned daily and will be prepared for your arrival with fresh linen, dressing gown, a selection of luxury toiletries and refreshments. Partners are very welcome to stay overnight at no additional cost. Our aim is to provide you with a comfortable, quiet and safe environment where you can start your new or expanded life together.

Our varied daily menu has been designed to provide catering options to suit a wide range of dietary requirements. However, our dedicated chef and catering team will be pleased to discuss any dietary requirements prior to your admission. All meals for you and your partner are included in our prices for the duration of your stay.

Finance

We offer competitively priced delivery packages if you are looking to self-fund your private care. Alternatively, Kingston Private Health is recognised with all of the major UK and international private medical insurers. Although most insurance companies will not usually cover the costs of your labour and delivery in their entirety, some may pay towards the total costs of your stay. We recommend that you discuss this with your medical insurance provider as early as possible. In electing to have your maternity care privately at Kingston Private Health, you will also benefit in the knowledge that any profit generated is reinvested into Kingston Hospital’s NHS services, helping to support the healthcare needs of the wider community.
