What to expect soon after birth
Please see below information about our visiting times at Kingston Maternity.
Antenatal and postnatal areas: 8am to 8pm
- Only 2 visitors per bed at any time, in addition to one birth partner
- Only the parents’ own children can visit
Birth areas: 8am to 8pm
- Adult visitors are permitted at the request of the woman/birthing person, and in agreement with the case midwife that the clinical situation is stable
- Only one birth partner can attend theatre
- A maximum of 2 people can support women/birthing people in the recovery or high dependency areas, including the birth partner
- Please be aware that you may be asked to leave if the clinical situation changes, as staff may need space to carry out their duties
- Children are not permitted in any birth areas
General guidance
You must sign in and out at the reception desk and wear the orange or green wristbands at all times
Do not visit any of our wards if you are feeling unwell
Do not bring any children other than the parents’ own to the maternity unit
Do not allow anyone to tailgate into the wards
Please remember, staff are here to help and we will not tolerate any abuse or harassment.
